    Consulted Visa (Visa Consultada)

Single-entry consular visa for nationals who require a visa to enter El Salvador.
Who fits: Foreign nationals whose nationality appears on the DGME list of countries requiring a visa, including travelers without access to a Salvadoran consulate who use the online Permiso Especial de Ingreso (PEI) route.
Gov fees: DGME form F46: US$40.00 for a single-entry consulted visa; PEI online request: US$100.00 per the DGME PEI page. — Admission of documents does not guarantee approval and the fee is nonrefundable. Confirm whether the $40 visa fee, the $100 PEI request fee, or both apply to your case.

    FAQ

How do I know if I need this visa?
Check the DGME country list. Citizens of Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua may enter with ID or passport under CA-4 rules; most other nationalities need only a valid passport unless their country is on the visa-required list.

What if there is no Salvadoran consulate where I live?
The PEI online route exists for travelers who require a consulted or consular visa but cannot process it for lack of a consulate, force majeure, or fortuitous event.

Does holding a US, Canadian, or Schengen visa help?
DGME instructs holders of such visas with at least 6 months validity before entry to contact the Foreign Ministry's visa technician to process the consular visa rather than filing the standard F46 packet alone.
