    FAQ

    Can I get a visa on arrival in Mogadishu?
    No. ICA states all foreign nationals must apply online in advance from 1 September 2025. UK guidance says Mogadishu arrivals need an eVisa prior to arrival.

    Does the Mogadishu eVisa work for Hargeisa (Somaliland)?
    No. UK guidance says you may be asked to show an eVisa to board a Hargeisa flight, but it is not valid for entry on arrival — you buy a separate single-entry visa on arrival valid one month. Canada likewise warns the Somali eVisa may not be recognised in Somaliland and Puntland.

    Do I need an invitation letter?
    UK guidance says you may need a letter of invitation outlining the reason for visit, usually from your place of work or host, and without it you may not be allowed to enter. Carry it with your ETAS approval.
