• Completed visa application form
• Travel document (passport) issued within the past 10 years, valid at least 3 months beyond the intended date of leaving Moldova (minors: additionally birth certificate and legal representative's passport)
• One recent matte colour photo, 35mm x 45mm
• GIM-issued invitation where required for your nationality, OR a valid residence permit or visa (except a transit visa) issued by an EU/Schengen state, the United Kingdom, the United States, or Canada
• Reservation at a tourist accommodation unit or, where applicable, the signed maintenance-and-accommodation undertaking by a host in Moldova (exception: applicants with a GIM invitation)
• Round-trip ticket reservation, or driving licence, green-card insurance, and vehicle registration documents if traveling by car
• Proof of means of subsistence: bank statement issued no more than 10 days before submission, minimum EUR 30 per day and at least EUR 300 for stays under 10 days, or the host maintenance-and-accommodation undertaking
• Travel medical insurance valid throughout Moldova covering the full stay including repatriation, emergency treatment, hospitalization, or death, minimum EUR 30,000

FAQ

What satisfies the invitation requirement?
Either a GIM invitation (for nationalities that require one) or a valid non-transit residence permit or visa from an EU/Schengen state, the UK, the USA, or Canada can satisfy this item.

Can I extend a tourist stay inside Moldova?
A short-stay visa of under 90 days may be extended for the same purpose so the total does not exceed 90 days in any 180-day period. Apply to GIM at least 3 working days before expiry.

Who does not need this visa?
Holders of a valid visa or residence permit issued by any Schengen state, Canada, the United Kingdom, or the United States are exempted from the invitation-letter requirement, and many nationalities are fully visa-exempt. Check the MFA visa-regime list for your nationality before applying.
