• Official consulate visa application form, completed accurately in all sections
• Two colour identity photographs glued to the form, 4.5 x 3.5 cm (no photocopies or scanned photos)
• Passport valid at least 6 months after the end of the intended stay with two fully blank facing pages
• Hotel reservation confirmation for the stay in Mali
• Copy of round-trip flight booking
• Proof of lawful residence in the application country where the applicant does not apply as a national (for example US visa or permanent resident card for third-country applicants in the United States)

Who does not need this visa?
Nationals of ECOWAS member states do not need a visa with a valid travel document (passport or ECOWAS laissez-passer). The Paris consulate lists Benin, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo; Washington adds exemptions for Algeria, Cameroon, Andorra, Monaco, Chad, Morocco, Mauritania, Gambia, and Tunisia.

What validity can I get?
The Paris tariff distinguishes 3-month and 6-month visas. Washington states U.S. citizens are eligible for up to 5-year multiple-entry visas. Confirm the validity and entries the issuing post will grant before paying.

Can I work in Mali on this visa?
No. The MFA portal lists tourism separately from business and study purposes. Do not use a tourist visa for paid work in Mali.
