    FAQ

Do I apply at an embassy or use Visa on Arrival?
If there is a Liberian embassy in your country, you are required to apply at the embassy and not through the VoA portal. Only travelers with no Liberian embassy in their country use the online VoA portal.

How long can I stay, and how long is the approval valid?
The officer at the airport sets the stay at 30 or 90 days. The VoA approval itself is valid for entry within 3 months — if you do not enter Liberia in that period you must start a new application. A VoA is valid for a single visit only.

Who does not need a visa?
ECOWAS passport holders do not require a visa to visit Liberia, per the Embassy. All other travelers should confirm with the nearest Liberian embassy, since airlines will not board passengers without a valid visa.

Can I transit Liberia on this visa?
The VoA portal covers tourism, business, and transit purposes. Transit travelers follow the same pre-application process and should carry an onward ticket plus the next-country visa if required.
