Documents

• Completed visa application form (online eVisa form or mission form)
• Ordinary passport valid for at least 6 months (travel documents are not accepted for eVisa)
• One recent color photograph (eVisa: 4.6 cm x 3.8 cm taken within the last 3 months, plus scanned passport bio-data page)
• Proof of return ticket from Myanmar (trip plan instead if entering via the Kawthaung land checkpoint)
• Proof of hotel/registered-guesthouse/boat booking for the stay
• Visa, Master, JCB, or Alipay card for the online eVisa payment
• For children under 7 on the same passport: name and date of birth entered in the minor section of the form

FAQ

How long can I stay on a tourist visa?
Mission and eVisa tourist visas allow 28 days from arrival; the tourist visa on arrival allows 30 days. The eVisa approval letter itself must be used within 90 days of issue.

Can I change a tourist eVisa to a business or social visa?
No. MOIP guidance states a tourist visa obtained through the eVisa system cannot be changed to business, social, or other visa types.

Which nationalities are visa-exempt for short tourist visits?
Ordinary passport holders of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Philippines, and Thailand (up to 14 days), Vietnam (up to 30 days), and Singapore (up to 30 days) under the published exemption, entering via the stated airports/checkpoints. Confirm the current exemption before traveling.
