    FAQ

How long can tourists stay and can the stay be extended?
Yes, within limits. A regular tourist visa allows up to 30 days and may be extended for a further 30 days at the Immigration Agency if you apply at least 4 days before expiry. Longer 31-90 day stays need visa permission in advance.

    e-Visa or mission application?
Citizens of eligible countries apply at evisa.mn without visiting a mission; approval (Electronic Travel Authorization) is emailed, normally within 3 working days / 72 hours. Ineligible nationalities apply at a Mongolian mission or qualifying border point.

Can I work or study on a tourist visa?
No. It is against the law to engage in activities outside the stated visa purpose. Business, work, study, medical and other purposes each need their own K/C/B/E/F/G/H/J permission and visa.
